Sulfate Free Shampoo GIVEAWAY! (By The Original Moxie)
If you ever read the blog you probably know that I have an obsession with washing my hair- and some disgust over the whole "no-poo" (meaning no SHAMPOO, not the other poo) trend. I mentioned my scandalous Pantene usage in a blog post once and people went nuts!
They all told me that the chemicals in Pantene were going to eat through my scalp and make me crazy or something. I am not usually one to bow to peer pressure, but dude- that sounded scary.
So I caved and bought some "natural" shampoos. (I couldn't bring myself to wash my hair with apple cider vinegar and baking soda. I have standards.)
BUT- the natural shampoos had a terrible trait in common- they left my hair feeling nasty and dirty and heavy and gross. Some worked better than others (I tried a FEW) but none did I like.
And then....
And then I got this new sponsor on the blog- The Original Moxie. The mama in charge offered to send me a sample kit of things to try out. Some shampoo and conditioner. Some hair spray. Some gel. A few styling products. (You can read about the company and it's founder, Rachel who is seriously a WOMAN who did this all. Love it! And she is working her awesome curly hair.)
Anyway- I know they are a sponsor but I have to say I was GENUINELY impressed with the products. I tried them out on my daughter too (you know, crazy girl). My crazy girl has equally crazy hair. Blond and curly and fine and she HATES (HATES) to have me comb it. Probably because it hurts to comb it because of all the curls and stuff. And I seriously don't know what to do with curls.
Everything is ALL natural, smells beautiful, and is free of all the scary stuff that shouldn't go on your hair. It is the perfect thing for somebody who wants to shampoo but wants to avoid toxins.
My favorite thing was the Get Fresh Shampoo and the Featherweight Conditioner. Truth is I have been buying either super cheap shampoo or natural stuff and none of it works very well. It either strips my hair or leaves it feeling greasy. I LOVED the way my hair felt with just these two products. It was shiny and smooth without feeling heavy or gross. It was really nice to feel like I took care of something for me. They worked great on my girls' too and left my daughter's curls curly without frizzing them out or weighing them down.
I tried out the Volumizing Spray too (which is like a light hairspray) and I liked that too. It didn't make my hair feel as soft as just leaving it with no other product, but it helped with volume (my hair has a little wave since having kids) and made it kind of cool and naturally thicker looking. I tried the Moisture Gel too and liked it- not too heavy but adds some shape. Nice product too for curls in fine hair. Rachel let me try the High Shine Pomade too. It was a good product but probably a little heavy for our super fine hair. It made the hair shine though! But it would probably work better on thicker curls or kinky hair.
Anyway- I was super impressed. The founder of The Original Moxie said I could do a giveaway of my favorite product- which has to be the shampoo. So...
